A Thought on Racism

Here in the UK about 10% of men are 'of colour'.

Nevertheless, consider 2 black men and 10 white men who are all as racist as each other, and who make up the entire population of the country of Never Win.

Oh look!

Here they are! ...

Now. The 2 black men each randomly hurl 5 racial insults in the direction of the whites.

In total, therefore, the black men hurl 10 racial insults and, on balance, therefore, each white man is insulted just ONCE.

Now, the white men are just as racist as the black men. They do exactly the same. They each hurl 5 racial insults.

In total, therefore, the white men hurl 50 insults, and, on balance, therefore, each of the two black men is insulted 25 times.

And so, even though these men are just as racist as each other (i.e. they each hurl 5 racial insults) the black men are on the receiving end 25 times as often as the white men.

So, perhaps, now we can see why blacks can feel so persecuted and get so upset even though they are just as racist as the whites!

So how do we remove this unhappy state of affairs?

Well, for the sake of argument, let's leave the two black men alone and DEMAND (or force) the 10 white men to be far less racist. They are simply not allowed to hurl 5 racial insults each. Henceforth, they are each only allowed to hurl TWO.

The result now is that each white man still receives just one insult - the same as before - but each black man now still receives TEN!

In other words, despite the fact that the individual white men of Never Win are now actually 60% less racist than the individual black inhabitants, the blacks are still racially insulted TEN TIMES more often than the whites.

Question: At what point will the individual blacks and whites be on the receiving end of racial abuse at the same rates?

Answer: When the black men are 25 TIMES as abusive as the white ones.

And herein lies the problem. 

When INDIVIDUALS are dealing with each other in real life, the very notion that black men should somehow be permitted to be 25 times as abusive as white men is going to lead to an INCREASE in white racism, not a decrease.

even a small increase in white racism will result in a big impact on blacks.

And, given that any increase in white racism is going to be multiplied by 25 TIMES for those blacks who are on the receiving end of it, even a small increase in white racism will result in a big impact on blacks.

So.

Blacks. Be warned!

It is very much to your advantage to keep the peace.

Whites. Be a little more considerate. 

Those blacks are probably much more vulnerable than you think.

They have to put up with 25 times more racial abuse than you do.

So. What do we do?

Simple.

If NONE of the men hurls any racial insults, then NONE of them will receive any.

And so balance is restored.
